A fun and interesting instrument, the percussionist holds the metal wire in one hand and strikes the ball with the palm of the other. This causes the hollow box to act as a resonator for the teeth mechanism inside.
Also known as a vibraslap or jawbone, it can create the menacing sound of a rattlesnake. Great for rhythmical interplay or as an off stage sound effect.
