March is just around the corner, and that means World Book Day is nearly here, a celebration that brings joy to classrooms no matter where you are in the world! Whether it’s costumes, masks, book swaps or show and tell, there’s no denying that there’s nothing children love more than celebrating their favourite characters!

Reading genuinely makes such a difference for children, it helps them make sense of the world, builds empathy, boosts confidence, and encourages so many questions. Regular reading has been proven to improve academic success, but even more importantly, helps children to grow into curious, open minded individuals ready to explore the world around them – something so important for international schools!

So, while World Book Day is about dressing up and great stories, it’s also a brilliant reminder of just how much of an impact reading can have and why we celebrate it in the first place!
